Frequently Asked Questions

We strongly recommend taking the Basics Course first as the essential place to start – you can access it right now here, it is the essential place to start. This will give you an understanding of the Gears in The MECAnism® tool, and how you can use them to help you learn The Human Language. Courses 1, 2 and 3 all use these Gears. You can access the BASICS Course right away here, and buy any of the other courses at the same time. The BASICS course is free with the purchase of one of the other courses.

The other three courses take you deeper into using the MECAnism to gain an inner understanding of yourself (Course 1), then to empathise with others (Course 2), and then to converse with others in The Human Language (Course 3). They have been created to build upon each other, so we’d recommend taking them in order, if possible, to gain the most from your learning journey. However, each one is also designed to stand alone, for you to take the one(s) you are drawn to, once you have taken the Basics Course first.

You can find out all about each course on the All Courses page.

Not as yet but we are very much hoping to start a community so that you can access additional materials, meet with others on their learning journey, share experiences and practise speaking and listening in The Human Language. This is our aim in the near future, as we gain momentum with the courses. In the meantime, you can sign up here [link to a form?] and we will be in touch when we have this ready. It will also be useful for us to see where people are based in case we run in-person events.

Yes, very much so. Indeed, we encourage you to merge The Human Language within your own style of speaking, so that it feels comfortable and familiar. In the beginning, however

As we mention in our course materials, learning The Human Language is a little like learning to drive a car. It can feel clunky at first, as you learn what the brake, clutch and accelerator are for, but the more you drive, the more it becomes second nature. In the same way, as you start to learn the basics of The Human Language, it will become familiar to you, and you’ll soon be able to think and speak in your own colloquial way as you gain fluency.

Yes most definitely. In fact we actively encourage you to pause frequently to take in the learning, consider how it applies to you and your life scenarios, and reference the Gears.

We also recommend that you repeat each course and repeat it again as often as you like. In embarking on this journey, we are gradually unpicking the language we have learnt over our lifetime; a language that has contributed towards our struggles, misunderstandings and disconnection with others, and that has become hardwired in our automatic habitual way of speaking. In learning The Human Language we are able to replace our learnt language with a new, all-round more compassionate way of speaking. Each time you read, hear and practise the learning, it becomes more and more embedded until it becomes your new habit.
